Senior Advisor for Water Safety and Aquatic Programs

Catherine was born and raised in Somerset County, New Jersey, and has been a resident of Bridgeton since 1978. She is a graduate of Montclair State College, where she earned teaching certifications in Special Education and Social Studies.

Catherine began her career with the Girl Scouts, serving for eight years as a Program Director and Residential Camp Administrator, where she developed and led youth programs while overseeing camp operations. She then dedicated more than 30 years to education as a teacher, making a lasting impact on the lives of countless students before retiring.

Throughout her career, Catherine has been deeply committed to public service and community safety. She is an American Red Cross Instructor Trainer, certified to teach Water Safety, Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, Canoeing, and Kayaking. She also served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), further demonstrating her lifelong commitment to helping others.

Catherine and her family raised two successful children—one who is an Analytics Engineer and the other a Registered Nurse. In retirement, she continues to serve her community as a member of Gallery 50 and as a volunteer with a local food bank, reflecting her enduring passion for education, service, and civic engagement.
