Senior Advisor – Legal & Public Safety

José earned his Juris Doctor from New England Law in Boston, Massachusetts, where he concentrated on taxation and the Uniform Commercial Code. During law school, he gained valuable legal experience through internships with the Massachusetts Department of Taxation, a legal research position assisting a professor specializing in commercial law, and as a legal intern with the Boston Red Sox. Following graduation, he successfully passed both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar examinations on his first attempt before serving as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Francis J. Orlando, Jr., J.S.C., who later became the Camden County Assignment Judge.

For more than three decades, José has built a distinguished legal career, with his service as an Assistant Cumberland County Prosecutor standing as one of its defining achievements. During his tenure with the Prosecutor's Office, he served in the Grand Jury, Special Victims Unit, Juvenile Unit, Domestic Violence Unit, and prosecuted adult criminal matters under the New Jersey Criminal Code. He handled countless bench trials and jury trials, earning a reputation for thorough preparation, courtroom advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to justice. José often reflects that he entered the Prosecutor's Office "as a skinny and scared kid, fed to the wolves," and emerged with the confidence and trial skills that have shaped his entire legal career. Additionally, Jose was just appointed as president elect of the Cumberland County Bar Association. 

The experience and leadership he developed as a prosecutor laid the foundation for his successful private practice, where he continues to represent individuals in family law, municipal court, estate planning, and real estate matters. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to ensuring that every client receives knowledgeable, compassion, and dedicated legal representation.José's extensive courtroom experience, commitment to public service, and deep understanding of the legal system make him an invaluable addition to our Board of Advisors. His guidance and insight will help strengthen our organization as we continue expanding programs that serve children, families, veterans, first responders, and our community.
